Process Over View
We want to extract everything from the plant and then re-combine it into a finished tincture. To do this, we will be using a three stage extraction process. The 3 parts will then be recombined with Glycerine to produce a highly potent tincture with an alcohol content of around 60%.
|
The second video is quick summery of possible options for administering the extracts or compounds found in rosemary. Making a tincture is just one way of using the base extracts, other options include.
|
|
|
One can not simple extract the target compounds into a water / ethanol mix, otherwise we would be doing just that.
A great deal of time and effort has gone into deigning this extraction process. The following is a set of detailed instructions designed to make it easy for others to produce the base extracts and to combine them into an end product. The documentation regarding the development process will be made available upon request.

Final calculations:
Plant Ratio:
- Rosemary. Mix in the following ratio 100g of type A with 20g type B
- Liquorice. 20g per 80g Rosemary (add to water extraction)
Extraction:
- Ethanol 95 ~ 96% 80g Rosemary mix per lt ethanol.
- Water "Distilled" Transfer the same 80g of rosemary into 2lt of water.
Blending:
- Glycerine : Tea ratio 500 / 550 ml Glycerine : 50 ml "concentrated antioxidant syrup / tea "
- Ethanol : Glycerine ratio 100ml Ethanol extract with a maximum 60ml Glycerine part.
Final calculations:
- 80g rosemary + 1lt ethanol = 750ml ethanol extracts after production losses.
- 20g liquorice + rosemary from ethanol extraction, extracted into water and blend with glycerine (450ml total volume)
- Produces 1.2lt of tincture = 40 x 30ml bottles.
- Probable dose rate = 0.5 - 1ml per day (1 x 30ml bottle per month)
- 2g rosemary and 0.5g liquorice per person per month
Selection of Plant | Growing & Drying Process.
Picking the right plants & what to do next.
Selecting the right plants and drying them in the right way maximizes the content of our target compounds.

SFM'Extraction Of Essential Oils from Rosemary
How to extract Every Thing out of the palnt material
Do not microwave all of your plant material.
For every 100g you cook save 20g.
For every 100g you cook save 20g.
- Type A 100g cooked
- Type B 20g uncooked
It is common to see wisps of vapour being released from the plant during the 2nd or 3rd rounds of heating. Enjoy the essential oils, lots of good healing things in there for cleaning the head!
|
|
Ideally one would be collecting the essential oils and recombining them into the finished product. I suspect that one of our target compounds is in the set of essential oils. A few relatively simple modifications and additions to the microwave are needed for this, I simply lack the equipment due to the lock-down. We shall compensate by adding in some uncooked plant.
Grinding & Sieving
Grinding the plant material into a very fine powder greatly improves mass transfer, allowing one to quickly extract all the goodness from the plant.
From this point on one should be observing the highest cleanliness standards possible.

Ethanol Extraction:
Extract the alcohol soluble compounds into 95 ~ 96% Ethanol.
|
Extract the alcohol soluble compounds into 95 ~ 96% Ethanol. Vodka, at only 50% will work to some degree, but its not strong enough to draw out the compounds we want. If it's all you have then you can try the higher plant ratios below and carry on as best you can, but it will not produce the same end product.

Water Extraction | The Strongest Antioxidant Tea Ever
How to extract all the antioxidants and other essential compounds into water.
|
Extraction of the antioxidants and other essential compounds into a water-based solution. After extraction and fine filtering, the tea will be concentrated into syrup then blended into the tincture.
|
Blending!
Blending with Glycerine to make a tincture
|
Dilute the ethanol by adding a blend of antioxidant syrup and glycerine. To avoid complete precipitation of active compounds use this process and do not exceed the following dilution ratio.
|
This process is used when working with Glycerine, as this material is in short supply we will next be investigating a sugar-based substitute.
